Lately, there have been tons of new artists making it to the top. But who are the current top artists? According to Billboard.com, the current top 5 artists for this week are:
- Tyler, The Creator
- Sabrina Carpenter
- The Cure
- Taylor Swift
- Morgan Wallen
Tyler, The Creator, an already popular artist, started to rise in the charts even more after his newest album drop, “Chromakopia”. Sabrina Carpenter has been popular for a while, just like Tyler, but recently started to rise after her newest releases such as Espresso, while also tons of her popularity came from her “all the emails i didn’t send” album. Taylor Swift, a well known all time artist, stays strong at number 4.
Let’s explore the rest of the list. At number 6, we have Chappell Roan – a new upcoming artist, known for her song and dance, “Hot to Go”. Billie Eilish remains strong at number 7, being popular and well known for years. As we go down, we see more new popular artists such as Gracie Abrams at number 13. American rapper, Kendrick Lamar, is currently at number sixteen – although, he was once at number 1. Popular artists such as The Weeknd and Sza stand at 17 and 20.
Other popular artists on the list include Eminem, (number 24) Future, (number 29) Drake, (number 38) Travis Scott, (number 43) Kanye West, (number 44) and Tate McRae (number 45).
We know the top artists in the world, but how about in Gibbons? I interviewed six students and asked who their favorite artists were. They said Kendrick Lamar, Sabriana Carpenter, Billie Elish, SZA, Tate Mcrae, Billie Elish once again, and Kendrick Lamar once more.
