Gibbons Spirit Caught on Camera!

Mid-Week Recap
Gibbons+Spirit+Caught+on+Camera%21

What a great start to Spirit Week! Our school spirit has been felt throughout the hallways for sure! From what we have seen, the first two days went really well!  As expected, kids went above and beyond right off the bat. On the first day, there was a lot of black and pink in the halls, but after a closer review, it seemed that more people wore Barbie-esque clothes than Oppenheimer, since Barbie was the more popular movie. Plus, pink is the best! What do you think? Check out some of the pictures below to see the colorful spirit seen throughout the halls on day one.

Day two was also a success! But, to be honest, half the school wasn’t dressed up. Really guys!? We can do better! Those who did dress up were super creative! Nice job! People wore their costumes, not just to celebrate Halloween, but to support UNICEF and it’s cause. People also volunteered to take UNICEF boxes with them while trick or treating to collect change to donate. UNICEF is a wonderful organization that helps meet the needs of young children and adolescents  in over 190 countries! Thank you to all who donated. We will let you know how much money we raised in one of our upcoming articles. In the meantime, be sure to check out all of the pictures from Halloween!

Our next article will cover our last three days of Spirit Week. Today, many students and teachers dressed as one another. What a fun day! Pictures will be posted soon! If you took any pictures and you would love to have them shared in our newspaper, send them along to Mrs. Nottingham.

Here is a reminder of the themes for the rest of the week:

Thursday: Pajama Day

Come to school in your favorite pajamas! Wear your favorite slippers, robe, blanket, and/or pajamas!

Friday: Color Wars!

This is a battle between every team!  We will wear our team’s color, and we will battle for who has the most team spirit!  We will share who the winners are at the end of the week!

Keep up the spirit, Gibbons! We can’t wait to see what you wear for the remainder of the week!

Hi! My name is Theertha Nair, and I'm in 7th grade on the Yellow Team. I've always enjoyed writing, and when I learned that there was a school newspaper in Gibbons at the beginning of 6th grade, I was ecstatic. This is my first year doing journalism, and I'm loving it already! I play two styles of violin; Western Classical, and South Indian classical. In my free time, I enjoy a lot of things; baking, cooking, drawing, reading, biking, and basketball. I'm hoping that Gazette will help me get better at writing! Some of my favorite books are Song for a Whale, Benefits of Being an Octopus, and the Time Castaway Trilogy.
