Autumn Night at Gibbons Site

Gibbons hosts two dances every year: the fall dance, and the winter dance. The theme for the fall dance this year was “Cloud Nine” which meant you had to wear colors that made you feel dreamy and free. The most popular colors worn to the fall dance were dark green, white, and blue.

To describe the fall dance atmosphere, it was simple but perfect. The gym was like the night sky, dark but lit with fairy lights that were the bright colors of the rainbow. They were draped elegantly across the gym walls. On the other hand, the cafeteria was brightly lit but gave a party vibe with the piles of candy and drinks laid out across the lunch tables. The photo booth where students could take pictures gave it a professional look with its pretty background. 

It was loud as well with the cheerful chatter of the students talking with their friends. But the main attention went to the best part of the dance: the DJ. Students gathered in groups with their friends and formed circles and danced till they decided they needed a break. But the best moments of the dance were when songs like “Fein,” “The 67 song,” “Gnarly,” and other songs made students cheer, scream, and give away their best dance moves.

It was also the same in the cafeteria with friends racing to the photo-booth to get pictures of some of their best memories, while others enjoyed snacks and jokes while being accompanied with their friends. 

While we were there, we asked for students to share some of their cool experiences.

One of the questions asked was, “What do you think about the dance?” to which many people answered this question in their own ways. Most people answered with …

“It’s really awesome. I lost my voice a little, but it is super duper fun! It’s  very loud, exciting, cheerful” said one person, while another claimed that they were there just for the snacks! Some argued that there could have been a better song collection because of the old retro songs which didn’t really spark the energetic spirit in the new age audience. 

Overall, everyone who attended the event had a great experience and created long lasting memories.  Thanks to the Gibbons Student Council and all the volunteers who made this happen; this event was amazing.
