Have you heard of the TV show Wednesday? Over the last few years, Wednesday has grown a giant fan base and recently released a second season, and hopefully will have a third. But is it even that good? Overall, the show was amazing: the setting, the mystery, the plot twist at the end. But the romance between Xavier, Tyler, and Wednesday in season one kind of pulled away from the main plot. And what’s up with Xavier not being in the second season?! Why did he leave? The plot twists were insane and unpredictable. Like Ms. Thornhill, a.k.a. Laurel Gates, was Tyler’s master and was the one who told Tyler to kill those people, and Rowan was trying to kill Wednesday! Total plot twist—I had no clue. And Tyler being the Hyde? Mind blown.
Now the second season was even crazier: Tyler’s mom coming back, Slurp being Tyler’s uncle, Enid being an Alpha, and so much more. The creators kept throwing revelation after revelation at us. So let’s take it piece by piece. First, Tyler’s mom is alive— a huge bomb dropped. All of season one, they made sure that everyone knew she was dead and then they brought her back. Slurp being Issac Night and Tyler’s uncle needs no explanation. Can we just talk about the chemistry between Tyler and Wednesday in season two? It is crazy. First, he gives her dead flowers—her favorite— and then she frees him instead of killing him, saying that she missed. If you know her, Wednesday NEVER misses anything. So she did it on purpose. Enid being an Alpha was not that great, because it kind of pulled away from the main plot. I know that it was supposed to be used as a way to show the extent of Wednesday and Enid’s relationship, but I still didn’t like it as much. The end was crazy! Ophelia is alive and living in Grandmama’s basement and the “prophecy” that Wednesday has to die was insane. Also, Thing being part of Issac? I almost cried. In all, I give Wednesday a solid 5 out 5!
